Time to Spring Clean your Life
With spring in the air a lot of people start thinking about spring cleaning, planting their gardens, their upcoming summer vacations, baseball season, kids spring break and of course in our area how long the snow will stay away. Early spring is also the time many people get their taxes done and spring fever can maybe get people hot to change jobs.
It’s an exciting time when anything can happen… It's almost like a second New Year's and you could say maybe people should have spring resolutions. Spring seems to bring so many fun attributes to the world that we live in, especially in our area and people seem to almost come out of hibernation.
Here’s a three step process on how you can make this spring and the rest of 2012 a success.
o Declutter
o Spring cleaning in your office, on your computer, you home or garage…
§ Unneeded financial statements, bills, clutter
· I’ve personally found that getting rid of this stuff can give you a fresh perspective on life.
o Now that you’ve gotten rid of your baggage…Write down 4 or 5 things you want to do throughout the rest of the year
o And tell someone!!
§ Accountability, Clarity, Progress, Motivation
§ This could be a trip you want to take or to buy a house…they’re your goals so use the energy that the spring time gives you to try something new
o Find people who can help you reach your goals
o This is a great time to connect with people – in real life
§ No holiday schedules, no kids summer vacation, no big 3 day weekends,
§ You probably have more energy, more daylight, and the summer events haven’t started yet so you’re not pulled in different ways.
I truly believe that eliminating some of your old stuff and doing some spring cleaning in your life will provide the room for you to focus on some of the exciting things you want to accomplish…after all it’s not called spring cleaning because it’s done in in winter.
