BLOG UPDATE: Time To Spring Clean Your Life

Crazy Snow in Seattle

Winter wonderland or disaster striking?  I guess it depends on who you ask and when you ask them.  As I was sitting snuggled up in my blanket watching movies with my daughter on Wednesday, I was LOVING it!  I had the shades to my back window open so we could see the snow continue to fall and leave a white blanket over the area.

Fast forward to Thursday when the ice storm hit...not so wondrous of an event.  The beautiful snow had quickly turned to a solid sheet of ice that was impassable.  By this time I was starting to get a little stir crazy, really ready to get out of this place.  By Friday, I didn't care if I was slipping and sliding all over the road...we had to get out!!

I have lived here for over ten years now and I have to say that the city of Seattle has REALLY stepped up when it comes to handling adverse weather.  Does anyone else remember the winter of 2006 when it seemed like the entire Puget Sound had lost power for days?  How about the winter of 2008 when we were all snowed in for almost two weeks?  Well, this time around, the main streets were cleared within a day and the side streets are easily navigable as I write.  Thanks to the city workers for being out there!!

Despite the crazy weather of the past few days, I wouldn't choose to live anywhere else on Earth.   Is there really any other phrase that has more excitement behind it besides....
