Taking That First Step Towards Buying a Home
Often times we are asked, What's the first step someone should take when buying a home in Seattle?
Well, believe it or not, it often times has a lot to do with looking inward rather than outward. You see determining what's important to you when you start looking at Seattle real estate is the most important thing you can do. The reality is there are many real estate goals as there are people who want to buy a home.
Think about the next year, two years, or even 10-years of your life. Is living in the city of Seattle near the action more important to you now than it will be in a few years? Are you planning on raising a family or do you need space for your dog to run around? Your life is unique and so should be your reason for buying a home in Seattle or any of the surrounding areas.
Over the last year, I've had many people in my office talking about how they can get the best deal. Don't get me wrong, people love a deal on homes in Seattle, Bellevue, or any other city in Washington, BUT it's not fair to yourself to get so caught up in the deal that you sacrifice living in the house you really want to call home.
Outside of investors, most people buy a place to live, to put down their roots, and be a part of the community. Homebuyers in Seattle or anywhere else in the entire country can be blinded by what appears to be a great deal in the effort to save money, only to find out that the house never truly becomes a home.
When people ask me the first thing I recommend when it comes to buying a home in Washington, no matter the city; I simply tell them to look within before you ever start the search. Truly determine what's going to be the most important aspect of your home in your life so that once you get the keys, you'll know you made the best decision for yourself.
