Valentines Day at the Last Minute

Yikes!!  Valentine's Day is already upon us...I know that I, for one, have completely forgotten and am in desperate need of getting out to get a gift!!  I'm going to guess that you may be in the same boat this year.  Are you in need of a last-minute gift for Valentine's Day??  Well, I've decided to go ahead and help you out. 

It seems that shoppers are planning to spend big bucks on gifts this year...to the tune of $17.6 billion!!  I'm amazed by that.  There's always of course the usual flowers, chocolates, jewelry, dinners, blah-blah-blah!!  Let's think of something more creative.  You know something that comes from the heart (and hasn't doubled in price just because there is a Valentine's Day placed in front of it.  Am I the only one who has noticed this????)  

Well, here's my list of creative Valentine's Day gifts.  I hope you are able to use one or two for your last-minute shopping. 

Something for your little ones:

~A coupon for a date with your kids.  They really just want to spend time with you.

~Make them red heart-shaped pancakes for breakfast in the morning.

~Spend the evening baking Valentine's cookies or cupcakes.

Something for your honey:

~Take over chores that you you know they don't really like doing.  

~Make them a mixed tape a la 1985. I guarantee this will make anyone smile. (Okay, maybe a mixed CD.  I suppose tapes are outdated.)

~Write a love poem on the bathroom mirror so they see it first thing in the morning.  I recommend using neon Dry Erase markers.  They show up best.
